Flexshield’s client, a machinery builder, faced the challenge of optimising their manufacturing space while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of their equipment and workers. They needed a solution that would provide visibility, offer noise control, and ensure protection from dust and other airborne contaminants. Seeking expert assistance, they approached Flexshield to address these concerns and find an effective way to enclose the space under their mezzanine.

Flexshield solution:

The Flexshield consultant team advised to create a complete enclosure for the mezzanine area.

The solution incorporated Sonic Clear PVC sliding/fixed curtains, mounted underneath the mezzanine floor in an ‘L’ shape, and a 1.8m wide x 2.1m high double leaf swing door in 7mm PVC.

The Sonic Clear PVC sliding/fixed curtains were strategically installed to cover specific areas.

This included a fixed curtain measuring 5.1m wide x 3.2m high to enclose the staircase, ensuring safety and reducing noise transmission in that area.

Additionally, a 14m wide x 2.9m high sliding curtain was positioned across the front, allowing for easy access and visibility while effectively containing noise and contaminants.

A 1.8m wide x 2.1m high double leaf PVC swing door was incorporated into the design to provide convenient access and enhance functionality. This sturdy door, constructed from 7mm flexible PVC, facilitated smooth entry and exit and maintained the desired noise control and protection against airborne contaminants.

Results achieved:

Flexshield’s solution exceeded our client’s expectations – in fact, the effectiveness of Sonic Clear flexible PVC as a noise reduction material astonished our customer..

The combination of Sonic Clear PVC sliding/fixed curtains and the double leaf PVC swing door provided remarkable outcomes. The enclosure successfully addressed our client’s primary concerns, offering enhanced visibility, efficient noise control, and effective protection against dust and other airborne contaminants. With natural light flowing through the Sonic Clear PVC curtains, the enclosed space maintained a pleasant working environment while meeting safety requirements.
