How to Specify SonicSorber Acoustic Foam
- Thickness: Available in standard thicknesses of 12mm, 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm. Select thickness based on the required frequency range and absorption performance. Thicker panels provide greater low-frequency absorption. Other thicknesses are available on request.
- Sheet Size: Standard sheet size is 1200mm x 2400mm (trimmed). Panels can be cut to size where required — note that additional cutting charges apply.
- Facing Option: Standard facing is available in a range of colours. Specify water repellent facing for applications where surface hygiene or liquid exposure is a consideration.
- Fire Classification: SonicSorber carries a BCA Group 3 fire classification per AS/NZS 3837, with an Ignitability Index of 0, Spread of Flame Index of 0, and Heat Evolved Index of 0 per NATA-accredited testing to AS/NZS 1530.3-1999. Recommended service temperature is -20°C to 100°C.
- Applications: Suitable for generator enclosures, compressors, blowers, plant and equipment rooms, ventilation ducts, machinery linings, and engine bays across bus, truck, and marine applications.
- Installation: Lightweight and self-supporting. Self-adhesive backing option available. Easy to clean and maintain in service.
