Initial project requirements:

Beerenberg Family Farm needed a reliable way to contain washdown water and overspray around their Kettle 1 and 2 processing area. The open layout caused mess, needed excess cleaning, and produced unnecessary water spread across the floor, raising concerns about safety and productivity.

As well as solving these issues, the solution would need to be compliant with food manufacturing standards, suitable for full washdown, and durable enough for daily use.

Flexshield solution:

The Flexshield team designed and supplied a SonicClear sheet curtain system that provided a purpose-built physical barrier without disrupting workflow.

The installation included:

A 4200mm x 2000mm L-shaped stainless track with a smooth radius corner
2mm thick SonicClear sheet curtain, 4050mm high by 6700mm wide, including 8% fullness for improved drape and coverage
Stainless steel hardware throughout, including mounting brackets, spigot joins, end caps, V-hanger rollers (304 grade), and spring hooks (316 grade)
Two stainless steel pull cords with custom made green polyurethane handles placed 1500mm from the floor for easy use
Built from food-grade, corrosion-resistant components
Supplied in kit form, ready for fast and straightforward installation

The system was purpose-built for full washdown use, with all materials selected to meet hygiene and durability requirements.
