Quench tanks provide a safe and practical method for cooling hot metal during welding activities, helping students develop safe workshop practices while supporting organised teaching environments.
Designed for repeated use in Trade Training Centres, schools and TAFEs, Quench tanks create a dedicated cooling station that helps reduce the risk of accidental contact with hot materials and supports efficient workshop workflow.
Quench tanks can be supplied as a standalone product or incorporated into a Complete acoustic welding bay, making them suitable for new workshop fit-outs, refurbishments and staged upgrades.

Optional Features
Every Trade Training Centre is different. Quench tanks can be specified for individual welding bays or integrated throughout complete workshop layouts, allowing facilities to create safe and practical welding environments that can expand as teaching requirements change.
Quench tanks are manufactured using recognised fabrication and quality management practices.
Supporting documentation is available to assist with specification and procurement, including compliance with relevant recognised AS/NZS standards where applicable, ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, AS4801 Occupational Health and Safety and supporting technical documentation

Consider the intended welding activities, available workshop space, number of student workstations and required tank capacity. Quench tanks provide a dedicated location for cooling hot metal, helping keep cooling activities organised within the workshop. Flexshield can assist with selecting a configuration suited to the project’s requirements.
Yes. Quench tanks are available in standard and custom sizes. Project teams can specify the required capacity and dimensions to suit the intended application and available space. Flexshield can assist with custom configurations where required.
Yes. An integrated drain valve is available as an optional feature. This can be considered during specification where controlled draining is required. The appropriate configuration should be confirmed with Flexshield based on the tank’s intended use and workshop requirements.
Yes. Quench tanks can be supplied in fixed or mobile configurations. The selection depends on the workshop layout, intended use and whether the cooling station needs to be repositioned. Flexshield can assist with determining the appropriate configuration during workshop planning.
Project teams should identify the number of tanks required, tank capacity, dimensions, drain valve requirements and whether fixed or mobile configurations are preferred. The specification schedule also allows you to indicate whether the tanks are required as standalone products or as part of Complete acoustic welding bays, along with supply-only or supply and installation preferences. Flexshield can provide product information and supporting technical documentation to assist with specification and procurement.
