Complete acoustic welding bays are designed to create safe, practical learning environments while supporting workshop flexibility, student supervision and day-to-day teaching.
Every installation is configured around the workshop layout, allowing education facilities to create one welding bay or complete multi-bay workshops using compatible Flexshield products. Acoustic performance forms part of the overall design, helping separate welding activities while maintaining practical teaching spaces.
Supporting technical documentation is available to assist architects, builders, education providers and project teams throughout planning and specification.
Welding Bay Walls – Sonic System V50 Acoustic Panel Construction
Steel Support Framework
Welding Curtains
Flooring
Optional Integrated Components
Every Trade Training Centre is different. Complete acoustic welding bays are configured around the workshop rather than supplied as a fixed package, allowing installations from a single welding bay through to complete Trade Training Centre workshops.
Complete acoustic welding bays are manufactured using products supported by independent testing and recognised quality management standards.
Documentation is available to support specification, procurement and project delivery, including NATA-accredited acoustic testing where applicable, recognised AS/NZS standards where applicable, ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, AS4801 Occupational Health and Safety and supporting technical documentation.

Project: Sonic Acoustic welding and grinding bays for TAFE training facilities
Industry: Construction/Education
Location: Chadston,VIC
Client: SJ Higgins Group Pty Ltd
Project: Bundamba TAFE
Industry: Manufacturing
Location: Queensland
Client: QBuild
Complete acoustic welding bays are configured around the available workshop space, the number of welding stations and the project’s operational requirements. Flexshield can assist with workshop planning and provide configurations that incorporate compatible components, rather than supplying a fixed package.
Complete acoustic welding bays can incorporate Sonic System V50 Acoustic Panel walls, steel support frameworks, Weldflex™ Concertina Sheet Curtains or Weldflex™ Strip Curtains, and FlexWeld Welding Mats. Optional components include telescopic fume extraction arms, custom workbenches and welding tables, gas reticulation, electrical services, PVC swing doors and inspection windows. The final arrangement depends on the workshop layout and project requirements.
Weldflex™ Concertina Sheet Curtains and Weldflex™ Strip Curtains are manufactured from AS3957-complying materials and are UV and spark resistant. They help separate welding activities while allowing flexible access to designated work areas. Curtain selection and configuration should be considered alongside welding flash protection, visibility and supervision requirements. Inspection windows can also be incorporated where required.
Flexshield can provide product data sheets, supporting technical documentation and independently NATA-accredited acoustic test reports where applicable. Documentation is available to assist architects, builders, education providers and project teams with planning, specification and procurement. Applicable testing and compliance requirements should be confirmed for the components selected for each project.
Yes. Flexshield provides workshop planning advice, specification documentation and technical support for education projects. Complete acoustic welding bays are available as supply only or supply and installation throughout Australia. Project teams can use the specification schedule to identify bay quantities, curtain requirements, optional components and installation preferences before requesting a quote.
