Welding Floor Mats

FlexWeld floor mats are designed for welding and fabrication areas where operators work around electrical welding equipment, hot metal and hard workshop floors. They are widely used in Trade Training Centres and are also supplied to industrial workshops, manufacturing and maintenance facilities. The insulating vinyl mat provides a defined work surface at the welding station, with a corrugated surface and high-visibility ramped border.

Welding operators can spend long periods standing in one position while working around electrical equipment, sparks and hot metal. FlexWeld floor mats provide an insulating work surface between the operator and the workshop floor.

The 6.5mm solid vinyl construction is designed for welding environments, while the corrugated surface and ramped border support practical day-to-day use around fabrication equipment and workstations.

FlexWeld floor mats can be positioned at standalone welding stations or specified as part of a larger Welding Bay layout where the mat dimensions, workbench position, access and surrounding equipment can be considered together.

Existing Flexshield product information records electrical test ratings for FlexWeld floor mats, including a 30,000V dielectric rating, a 20,000V proof test rating and a 17,000V recommended usage rating.

The current website also references AS/NZS 2978:1995. That standard has since been superseded by AS/NZS IEC 61111:2020. The applicable test documentation and compliance wording should therefore be technically confirmed before updated standards or compliance statements are published on this page.

Until that review is complete, the website should avoid broad statements such as ‘fully compliant’, ‘independently verified safety ratings’ or other compliance claims that are not supported by current documentation.
