Questions people ask about Weldflex™ welding screens

Weldflex™ welding screens are suited to industrial welding and fabrication areas, engineering workshops, manufacturing plants, rail maintenance facilities, resources sites and other workplaces where welding activity needs to be separated from surrounding work areas.

Weldflex™ welding sheet curtains use a continuous PVC sheet and are suited to fixed or sliding screening. Weldflex™ welding strip curtains use overlapping PVC strips and are useful where personnel or materials need to pass through the opening regularly.

Yes. Screen dimensions, frame configuration, curtain type, mounting arrangement and access can be developed around the available workshop space and project requirements.

Yes. Mobile configurations can use heavy-duty castors and foot-operated brakes so the screen can be repositioned within the workshop when required.

Yes. Flexshield has supplied automated Weldflex™ welding sheet curtains for industrial manufacturing projects. The required motor, track, support structure and controls need to be considered as part of the project design.

Weldflex™ welding screens are primarily welding screening products and should not be specified as the acoustic wall component of a Welding Bay. Where noise control is required, Flexshield can combine Weldflex™ welding sheet curtains with Sonic System acoustic modular panels as part of a complete Welding Bay.

Current Flexshield product information references AS/NZS 3957 for light-transmitting screens and curtains used in welding operations. Current product documentation should be reviewed when preparing a project specification.

Yes, welding screens are typically made from fire-resistant materials that can withstand sparks, splatter, and arc flash exposure.

Welding screens are generally low maintenance; however, periodic inspection and cleaning may be necessary to ensure their effectiveness and longevity.

Welding screens protect against hazards such as intense light, heat, sparks, molten metal, noise, glare, and fumes generated during welding activities.
