Home » Exploring industrial noise control solutions in Canberra
The Flexshield team recently had the opportunity to visit several of our noise control projects in Canberra. Despite the chilly conditions – with temperatures hovering at zero degrees in the early hours – the trip proved immensely valuable as we observed our industrial noise control products in action.
The visit’s purpose extended beyond merely witnessing our products in operation. It also aimed to gather comprehensive insights into our clients’ ongoing infrastructure developments, and to explore opportunities for enhancing our service to them.
During Flexshield’s Canberra visit, our team had the opportunity to see in action the unique features of our Sonic Series acoustic louvres, Sonic Access personal access, and double acoustic doors. These products – specifically designed for controlling pump noise – are currently effectively deployed in significant infrastructure projects in Australia’s capital.
Each of these products plays a pivotal role in mitigating industrial noise:
During our site visits, the Flexshield team witnessed the substantial developments underway in Australia’s capital. Notably, in some areas residential dwellings are being constructed near pump stations. This underscores the need for our client to deliver a solution that effectively supplies water to the estate, without excess noise disrupting neighbouring residences and businesses.
Our Canberra visit also served as a stark reminder of the importance of on-site assessments and strict adherence to noise regulations. Thanks to the Flexshield team’s in-depth discussion with our client, we discovered that each pump station location has slightly different noise acceptance levels at the boundary line. This important on-site discovery underscores the necessity of visiting project sites to fully understand machine operations and the potential impact of noise on neighbouring residences – particularly in our focus on mitigating water pump noise.
Adhering to noise control guidelines is not just about maintaining positive community relations; it also brings substantial business benefits. By ensuring compliance with noise regulations, businesses can avoid potential disputes and foster a more harmonious environment for all stakeholders – truly a win-win outcome. What’s more, selecting appropriate equipment initially can ensure equipment longevity, and reduce the need for replacements and rework in the future.
Flexshield’s visit to Canberra provided a valuable opportunity to observe firsthand the impact of our industrial noise control products in real-world applications. It reinforced the significance of on-site assessments, and showed our unwavering commitment to providing customised solutions tailored to specific project requirements. We remain steadfast in delivering effective noise control solutions for infrastructure projects across Australia.
